This fascinating project was commissioned by a Milan family who had been looking to restore a property in Ostuni area for years. They felt in love with a plot of red soil land dotted with fig and olive trees and with two derelict stone lamias featuring rare star vaults. The project consisted in repairing and consolidating the existing buildings and adding an L shape contemporary white extension at basement and ground floor level.
Natural stone ceilings and white washed walls make the space simple yet beautiful. Minimal full height windows offer views to the countryside and the furniture is limited to a minimum to enhance what is already there.
The family spends here as much as possible with the long-term aim of making this their permanent home in future.
