The building is set in the grounds of Crouch Green, an early 20th-century extended hunting lodge in the arts and crafts aesthetic. The project comprised a garage/coach house for a motoring enthusiast’s vehicles and automobilia, together with an indoor swimming pool.
The owner and the planning authority required that the new building should be a natural development of the existing property. Planning approval on the site presented a significant hurdle, but the resulting building has been declared a great success and integrates very well with the existing house and its setting.
