Part 3 Architect or an Architectural Technologist

Roger Mears Architects are looking for a Part 3 Architect, with an interest in conservation and an eye for detail to work on a range of projects.

We are a growing London-based practice, with a team of hands-on Partners and skilled Architects. You will be supporting the team on a variety of projects including residential extension, repair and refurbishment; conservation of churches; extension and refurbishment of modern buildings etc.

Required Skills & Experience for Part 3 Architect
• Part III qualified
• At least 2 years working in professional practice, ideally in the UK
• Experience working through a variety of RIBA stages would be advantageous
• An interest in conservation and experience of working on historic buildings
• Able to demonstrate a practical approach and experience with detailing
• Experience or an MSc in conservation or sustainability is an advantage
• Ability to work in 2D and 3D CAD
• Vectorworks proficiency would be advantageous

This role requires taking responsibility for some projects, including preparing drawings and specifications, working collaboratively with a Partner. For some projects you will liaise directly with clients, consultants and contractors; on others, you will be asked to work collaboratively in an in-house team.

Required Skills & Experience for an Architectural Technologist
The primary aim is to support projects by developing projects from concept through to technical design and specification and liaising with other in-house design team members.
The successful candidate will have:
• A CIAT qualification, or a university degree in Architectural Technology or equivalent
• A minimum of 3 years’ UK work experience in a building design capacity, including extensive experience of production information on residential projects
• An interest in conservation and experience of working on historic buildings
• A good working knowledge of current construction techniques, Building Regulations etc.
• Ability to work in 2D and 3D CAD
• Vectorworks proficiency would be advantageous


Our office is located inside the vibrant Grade I listed Union Chapel, very close to Highbury & Islington tube station. We are a family-friendly practice and are fully set up for remote working and can discuss flexible working hours if this is suitable.
