House, Marylebone: overview

View of the house

This house was built in 1787 and extended into the mews in 1927. In the 1980s it underwent alterations that ripped the heart out of it, changing the proportion of rooms and stripping out original mouldings. In 2005 we were asked by the new owner to help put the house back together.

The work carried out included reinstating the original plans form and arrangement of rooms, reinstating original detailing and creating a coherent whole. New insertions used appropriate detailing and a high level of services. An additional story was added on top for use as a studio.
