Country House, Vale of White Horse: refurbishment
Inside, the house was completely refitted and recent partitions were removed to regain the elegant proportions of the original rooms. The back stair hall was opened up, with new newel posts and a simple broad arch over. Doorways along corridors were widened into arches allowing longer views and more light into the rambling first floor.
